The George Washington Birthday Celebration Committee was formed by an act of the Alexandria City Council to organize the celebration of Washington’s Birthday; it’s members are appointed by the City Council to two year terms.
The Committee meets on the third Monday of each month except January (when meetings are on the second Monday) and February (when meetings are on the first Monday). The Committee does not meet in June or July. Meetings are held at Lee Center (1108 Jefferson Street, Alexandria) and begin at 7:00 p.m. In addition, organizing subcommittees meet on dates and at times and locations which are individually scheduled. You may also call the Office of Citizen Assistance at (703) 838-4000 to confirm our meeting dates, times, and locations. All are welcome at our meetings!
